Peter Ifendu Ukonu is the pioneer Director-General of the Abia State Technological Skills Acquisition Centre (ATSAC), where he leads the State's ambitious transformation agenda to build a world-class talent pipeline, strengthen digital capacity, and position Abia as a centre of technological innovation. He sets the institution's strategic direction, advances technology-enabled skills development, and expands access to cutting-edge training for young people and public-sector institutions.

Lead Backend Engineer — Onto (EV Subscription, UK)

Peter served as Lead Backend Engineer at Onto, where he actively oversaw and participated in the company's rapid scaling from 200 vehicles to 10,000 vehicles over a three-year period. He built the Booking Engine and Fleet Management System (codenamed Retrace), which became central to the company's operational infrastructure.
- Achieved an 87% vehicle utilisation rate — largely driven by a proprietary vehicle timeline utilisation and enhanced booking algorithm he developed
- Supported the company through raising £300M in combined equity and debt financing during his tenure
- Managed engineering scaling challenges as the fleet grew 50x, ensuring platform reliability and performance throughout
